The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! has officially revealed its first promotional trailer, main cast, staff lineup, and an October 6, 2025, premiere date. Based on Mamakari’s popular romantic comedy manga, the series is being animated by Marvy Jack.

Cast and Theme Song

Aya Endō will voice the lead role of Yumeko Kōda, with Yūma Uchida playing opposite her as Keisuke Yūki. In addition to his voice acting role, Uchida will perform the anime’s ending theme, titled "Watashi de Yokatta!!!" (translated as "I'm Glad It's Me!!!").

Production Staff

The anime is directed by Kazuomi Koga, known for his work on Rent-A-Girlfriend. Aya Watatane, who also worked on the live-action version of the series, is handling the series composition and scriptwriting. 

Character designs are by Atsuko Takahashi (Rainy Cocoa), who also serves as one of the chief animation directors, alongside Kyoko Kametani (Fruits Basket) and Izumi Yamanaka (Dog Signal).

Story Synopsis

Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! follows Yumeko, a woman plagued by self-doubt and insecurities about her appearance. After a life-threatening accident, she awakens to find herself completely transformed, both physically and emotionally. 

Now radiating confidence and positivity, Yumeko begins to change not only her own life but also those around her, navigating love, work, friendship—and even a mysterious attempted murder case.

The manga began serialization in 2019 and is officially published in English by MangaPlaza. It previously inspired a live-action drama adaptation, which premiered in November 2022.
