Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 officially launched on Saturday, July 19, on Crunchyroll, continuing the explosive journey of Kafka Hibino and the Defense Force as they battle a rising threat of kaiju.

Alongside the premiere, Crunchyroll revealed the full English dub cast and crew, confirming a same-day release for dubbed episodes.

Returning to the lead role, Nazeeh Tarsha voices Kafka, with Aaron Dismuke as Narumi and Abigail Blythe as Kikoru. The cast also includes:

Christopher Wehkamp as Isao

Marcus Stimac as Eiji

Adam McArthur as Reno

Ben Stegmair as Iharu

Landon McDonald as Hoshina

Katelyn Barr as Mina (also young Mina)

Emi Lo as Shinonome

Reagan Murdock as Miyake

David Matranga as Tachibana

Brandon Acosta as Kurusu

Alexis Tipton as young Kafka

The dub team includes Voice Director Shawn Gann, Producer Susie Nixon, and Script Adapter Dallas Reid, with Nathanael Harrison and Victor Acosta handling sound.

Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 picks up after the dramatic events of the first season, diving deeper into Kafka’s transformation and the Defense Force’s escalating war against the kaiju threat.

The simultaneous sub and dub release reflects Crunchyroll’s growing commitment to global fans eager for real-time access to major anime titles.

The same-day dub release is a clear nod to how global anime consumption has changed. Fans no longer want to wait weeks for dubbed versions, and Crunchyroll seems to be listening.

Whether you're a sub loyalist or dub-first viewer, this is a step in the right direction for accessibility and reach. Season 2 arrives with expectations after a well-received debut season.

Now, with higher stakes, more powerful kaiju, and Kafka’s dual identity under pressure, the story has space to dig deeper. Hopefully, it balances character development with the monster-of-the-week rhythm it leaned on in Season 1.
